10+ Books to Inspire Your Bible Reading this Summer

Jul 14, 2025

I love books! So, this week, I’ve rounded up some of my favorites to hopefully inspire your Bible reading. Reading books about the Bible or Christian living can help refresh your approach to Scripture and add depth and perspective to your time in the Word. It’s a way to expand the breadth of what you know so you read the Bible with more insight, awareness, and clarity.

So, what are you interested in learning more about? Maybe you want to know more about God. I’d suggest my favorite book of all time—JI Packer’s Knowing God. Want to be encouraged to share the Gospel more or to live wholeheartedly for the Lord? Read a Christian biography. Want to learn more about Jesus’ parables, the Psalms, or how to know God’s will? See below for a list of great books about these subjects and more!

These are perfect to dive into poolside, on a road trip, or while the kids are napping this summer! Happy Reading!

What I’m Loving This Week

I’m loving the challenge of this quote from William Carey, the “Father of Modern Missions”–

“I’m not afraid of failure; I’m afraid of succeeding at things that don’t matter.”

A Prayer for This Week

“Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways,” (Psalm 119:37).

Inspiration for This Week

“Lord Christ, let me but hold Thy hand

And all the rest may go.

For nothing is, but only seems,

And life is full of idle dreams,

Until Thyself we know.”

–John Oxenham
